Downtown at Penny’s Coffee

It’s been quite a while since I have written a post! After a long fall college semester, and a whirl-wind winter break, I decided I should start making time again for my blog.

Last week during my break, my cousin Jamie came up from Iowa to stay with me for the weekend. She’s not used to the big city so I decided to give her a little taste of what my friends and I love to do so much…

Coffee and Photography.

My friend Megan and I had never been to Penny’s coffee in downtown Minneapolis and thought this would be the perfect place to bring her to and tryout.

Penny’s coffee has a great little menu with options of coffee, tea, and hand squeezed juices, and a variety of crepe choices varying from sweet to savory for every individuals preference.

On the sweet side of the spectrum, I had the a Matcha Latte and the Banana Nutella Crepe. Megan had the savory Mozzarella Tomato and Basil Crepe with a Lavender Vanilla Latte. Jamie had a more simple meal with the Cinnamon Sugar crepe and Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice. Between all of us we got to try a little taste of everything, and we all really enjoyed it. We will for sure be coming back soon!

My favorite part (besides the coffee and food of course!) of any coffee shop is the unique atmosphere the each one has. Penny’s Coffee has a very cool and clean feel to it with the beautiful marble walls, high ceilings, and unique decor.

After a fun brunch, we continued our date with some pictures on Washington Ave. downtown.

Overall, I think I showed my beautiful small-town cousin how we roll, and as much as she hated being in the city traffic, she really had a good time being a city girl for a day.

Most likely writing about my favorite places in the Twin Cities, my obsession with coffee, the passion I have for learning about different cultures and languages, the immense desire I have to travel anywhere and everywhere I possibly can, and the stories of what happens in my life everyday.
